On the 14th of January, News broke out that armed bandits hijacked a luxurious bus, owned by Ezenwata Nigeria limited, along Kaduna-Zaria highway.
It was later reported that revealed that the bandits were demanding #100,000,000 ransom for the hostages. 2 days ago, the Nigerian Police reported that they have rescued 20 of the hostages and they also released their names. The Police Public relations officer DSP Yakubu Sabo, also told the press that 2 of the victims even paid the ransom but they were still not released until until the police intervened.
A Twitter user by the name @kenechukwukayce, posted on Twitter about one of the victims:
“I came in contact with one of the victims of EZENWATA TRANSPORTATION CO. kidnap in the hospital today, she was released after her relatives paid her ransom, she sustained a gunshot, yet no security operatives around to help the lodged bullet or taking info from her to help rescue her”
